Laurie Hastings is an illustrator and printmaker currently based in Edinburgh.
Laurie strives to produce images that capture and communicate the imagery and narrative of a text. Her personal work is inspired by urban landscapes; exploring the interplay of buildings and structures, the moods and rhythms of a city and the people living within it.
Laurie was born in Hong Kong in 1981, where she lived until commencing her art foundation course at Chelsea College of Art, London. In 2004 Laurie graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA Honours degree in Illustration. During this time she spent 3 months at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, while on placement.
Clients include Random House, BBC Scotland, Redactive Media, Pitus Design, Management Today Magazine, SHS Publishing and Knucker Press.
